Carolina Toso is a doctoral candidate in a joint PhD between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the University of Amsterdam. She read for a BA in Spanish and Arabic at the University of Oxford, for which she spent a year at IFPO Amman and submitted a thesis in comparative literature on prison poetry in Syria and Uruguay. She went on to earn an MA in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento including one year at EHESS/ENS-PSL in Paris, where she also conducted an ethnography on the Palestinian diaspora. After some years in the non-profit sector, she is now pursuing a PhD on Palestinian literature, focusing on novels by authors who returned to Palestine after the Oslo Accords of 1993. Her interdisciplinary research, conducted under the supervision of Simone Sibilio and Ihab Saloul, lies at the intersection between literature, cultural memory, and trauma.
