Call for papers – Maydan and SeSaMO Study Days – Third Edition

The call for papers for the third edition of the study days of Maydan: rivista sui mondi arabi, semitici e islamici and SeSaMO (Società per gli Studi sul Medio Oriente) is now open. The study days will take place on 18 and 19 February 2027 at the University of Naples L’Orientale.

The study days are aimed at PhD students, graduates and final-year master’s students, and are designed to support young scholars in the early stages of their research and publishing career. Each presentation will be part of a thematic panel, with a discussant offering structured feedback on the papers. The study days are the main selection venue for the contributions to the seventh issue of Maydan.

Proposals take the form of a long abstract (800–1000 words, in Italian or English) and must be submitted anonymously, in .pdf and .docx format, by 23 October 2026 to submission.rivista@maydan.it. Full details on how to apply are in the call (in Italian).
